about

Label head XVIII debuts with a classy industrial-esque EP.

Loss and Despair features pure techno-fused tracks with rough and hard textures while being experimental but also contemporary. XVIII showcases his raw sound through these tracks where hypnotic energy and repetition are almost perfectly drawn together.

Heavily distorted sound design, razor sharp noises and driven beats are what makes this EP unique and powerful. XVIII approaches a different take in techno in which looping is a form of controlling the art.

Starting with experimental-like track 'Bipolar', XVIII tends to form a mysterious atmosphere with intensified shifting noises & shedding effects through the entire track, continuing with 'How Heavy My Heart Was' which features a heavy & punchy kick which trasforms into something more profound along with the deep & reverberated vocal cuts.

While remaining vibrant & keen in structure, 'Untitled Love' revolves around divergent and eerie composition, background noises carefully stalking the dark & cinematic pads. Advancing with the fourth track 'Disorder' which builds with pulsating low end, focusing on rhythmic tones & powerful hits of sub to create hysteria and deftness.

Finishing with the last one 'Lies', XVIII leaves the EP with a stunning club-oriented acid track alongside 2 robust, tough and bashing remixes from Berlin's Sylvie Maziarz and the tenacious duo from India, A Birth Defect.
